Connect
PRIVACY & ACCESS

One shared conversation.

Neato Connect relays new messages, names, profile pictures, replies, edits, deletions and supported files between one linked Teams channel and one Neato Slack channel.

What the app receives

Microsoft’s permission covers messages across the team where the app is installed. The bridge discards messages from unlinked channels before saving or relaying them. It does not request access to direct messages or other teams. Slack access is limited by the channels the bot belongs to; only linked channels are relayed.

What is kept

The bridge stores channel connection details, message IDs and delivery records. Message content is held while delivery is pending or failed, then removed from the inbox after successful delivery. Copies in Slack, Teams and file storage remain subject to those organizations’ access and retention settings. Failed deliveries need Neato’s attention.

Files and names

Files may be copied to the other organization when configured access permits it. Otherwise a link to the original is shared, which may require permission to open. Teams messages appear in Slack with the sender’s name and initials. Slack messages show the sender’s name and picture in a Neato card.

Stopping the connection

Mention Neato and send “disconnect” in the linked channel, or ask Neato to disconnect it. New sharing stops. Existing copies are not removed by disconnecting. Some message deletions may appear as a deletion notice because of platform restrictions.

Tell everyone in the channel before connecting. Contact your usual Neato partner contact for access, retention or deletion requests.
